How efficient is your line, really?

OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) measures the real efficiency of a plant by combining availability, performance and quality. Enter your data and discover your OEE — and which of the three factors is holding you back.

How OEE is calculated

OEE is the product of three factors:

Availability = operating time ÷ planned time ·  Performance = actual output ÷ theoretical output ·  Quality = conforming parts ÷ total parts.
OEE = Availability × Performance × Quality.

Example

A 480-min shift with 60 min of downtime → Availability 87.5%. 720 parts at a 30 s ideal cycle over 420 min → Performance 85.7%. 18 rejects out of 720 → Quality 97.5%.
OEE = 0.875 × 0.857 × 0.975 ≈ 73% (the industry average is around 60%, excellence is 85%).
